Mais des mises \u00e0 jour de la conception de l'ARC proposent des solutions alternatives, comme les couvertures liquides FLiBe, pour att\u00e9nuer ce probl\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<h3>SPARC : le marteau \u00e0 neutrons de la fusion<\/h3>\n<p>SPARC, developed by Commonwealth Fusion Systems, is one of the most advanced high-field tokamak prototypes in the world. It is expected to achieve plasma breakeven (Q &gt; 1) by 2026. It is interesting to note its compact size and high magnetic fields (up to 12 T); the neutron flux is way beyond usual rates in the industrial nuclear installations used for electricity production.<\/p>\n<h3>Maintenance et \u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 : Le goulot d'\u00e9tranglement cach\u00e9<\/h3>\n<p>Ce flux peut entra\u00eener l'activation des mat\u00e9riaux structurels, la fragilisation, le gonflement \u00e0 l'h\u00e9lium et des probl\u00e8mes d'int\u00e9grit\u00e9 des fonctions d'\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>L'entretien ou le remplacement des joints dans de telles conditions n\u00e9cessite un arr\u00eat complet et une intervention \u00e0 distance, ce qui est co\u00fbteux et prend du temps. En l'absence d'une cellule chaude ou d'une infrastructure de maintenance robotis\u00e9e, cette limitation devient critique. Toutefois, en raison des conditions d'exploitation du SPARC, l'activation sera consid\u00e9rablement plus limit\u00e9e que dans le cas de l'ARC.<\/p>\n<h3>ARC : Surmonter le flux de neutrons <strong>Impact avec <\/strong> <span class=\"lowercase-text-1\">FLiBe<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>La suite de SPARC, ARC, a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue en tenant compte de ce d\u00e9fi. Elle pr\u00e9sente une couverture d'immersion liquide en FLiBe (un m\u00e9lange de fluorure de lithium et de fluorure de b\u00e9ryllium).<\/p>\n<h3>Ce qu'il faut faire <span class=\"lowercase-text-1\">FLiBe<\/span> Fait<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Mod\u00e9ration et absorption des neutrons : Prot\u00e8ge les mat\u00e9riaux structurels et l'enceinte \u00e0 vide.<\/li>\n<li>Accumulation de tritium : Le lithium du FLiBe produit du tritium sous l'effet d'un bombardement neutronique. Cela signifie qu'il peut produire le tritium n\u00e9cessaire pour alimenter la r\u00e9action de fusion.<\/li>\n<li>M\u00e9dia de transfert de chaleur : Fonctionne efficacement entre 700 et 900\u00b0C sans pression \u00e9lev\u00e9e.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>De nouveaux d\u00e9fis en mati\u00e8re de mat\u00e9riaux apparaissent<\/h3>\n<p>Pour r\u00e9soudre les probl\u00e8mes de neutrons sur les mat\u00e9riaux, FLiBe s'accompagne de ses propres contraintes d'ing\u00e9nierie :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Les temp\u00e9ratures de fonctionnement \u00e9lev\u00e9es (~850\u00b0C) n\u00e9cessitent des mat\u00e9riaux pr\u00e9sentant une excellente r\u00e9sistance thermique et chimique.<\/li>\n<li>Les mat\u00e9riaux compatibles sont les suivants\n<ul>\n<li>Les alliages \u00e0 base de nickel, comme l'Hastelloy-N ou l'Inconel, pour une meilleure r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la corrosion dans le sel fondu.<\/li>\n<li>Composites SiC\/SiC : R\u00e9sistants aux neutrons et compatibles avec le FLiBe (mais co\u00fbteux et fragiles).<\/li>\n<li>Graphite ou m\u00e9taux r\u00e9fractaires rev\u00eatus (par exemple, molybd\u00e8ne, tungst\u00e8ne).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Les mat\u00e9riaux d'\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 doivent r\u00e9sister aux cycles thermiques, \u00e0 la corrosion chimique et \u00e0 la perm\u00e9ation potentielle du tritium, ce qui pousse les ing\u00e9nieurs \u00e0 concevoir de nouveaux mod\u00e8les.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Maturit\u00e9 de <span class=\"lowercase-text-1\">FLiBe<\/span> et une adoption plus large<\/h3>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 des performances prometteuses, les couvertures FLiBe ne sont pas encore arriv\u00e9es \u00e0 maturit\u00e9 sur le plan industriel. Les principaux domaines de d\u00e9veloppement en cours sont les suivants<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Syst\u00e8mes de contr\u00f4le de l'oxydor\u00e9duction pour \u00e9viter la d\u00e9composition du sel et la corrosion.<\/li>\n<li>Syst\u00e8mes d'extraction du tritium \u00e0 partir de sels fondus.<\/li>\n<li>Technologies de t\u00e9l\u00e9manipulation et de purification du sel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cependant, l'\u00e9lan est en train de s'amplifier :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ARC est l'utilisateur le plus avanc\u00e9.<\/li>\n<li>Xcimer Energy (fusion laser) \u00e9tudie le FLiBe comme bouclier neutronique.<\/li>\n<li>Dans le domaine de la fission, MoltexFLEX et TMSR-LF1 (Chine) d\u00e9ploient d'autres sels dans la RSM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cette tendance montre une \u00e9volution claire de l'industrie : les couvertures liquides deviennent l'avenir de l'architecture durable des r\u00e9acteurs de fusion, offrant un meilleur temps de fonctionnement, un meilleur blindage et un meilleur potentiel d'int\u00e9gration, au prix d'une plus grande complexit\u00e9 chimique et thermique.<\/p>\n<p>L'industrie de la fusion est confront\u00e9e \u00e0 un moment d\u00e9cisif : les c\u0153urs des r\u00e9acteurs r\u00e9sisteront-ils \u00e0 leur propre \u00e9nergie ? Alors que SPARC met en \u00e9vidence les probl\u00e8mes techniques des tokamaks de premi\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, notamment en ce qui concerne la maintenance, l'\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 et la fatigue des mat\u00e9riaux, les conceptions de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration telles que l'ARC adoptent le FLiBe pour les r\u00e9soudre.
