Technetics Features Inflatable Seal Line at INTERPHEX

Houston (April 5, 2016) – Technetics, manufacturer of innovative sealing solutions for critical medical applications, will showcase its line of inflatable seals in a shared exhibit with sister company Garlock, Booth #3164 at INTERPHEX, April 26-28, at the Javits Center in New York City.

CEFIL'AIR® seals, which expand and retract by a pneumatic process, are based on a patented design and advanced elastomers that withstand various gasses and liquids in temperatures from -148°F (-100°C) to + 482°F (250°C) and pressures from 10-1 to 10-3 mm Hg to several bar. These seals are used in doors and other situations where equipment parts move in relation to each other and can benefit from a pneumatic seal that inflates to create a hygienic closure.

Technetics’ inflatable seal product line includes seals made of BIO-GUARDIAN®, an elastomer formulation that prevents development of bacteria and micro-biofilm. The BIO-GUARDIAN® inflatable seal is used in common laboratory equipment like isolators, sterilizers, freeze dryers and washing machines where an elastomer seal may be a potential source of contamination.

Technetics will also feature their extruded profiles. These silicone profile seals are extruded in a wide range of elastomers, shapes and shades for high temperature and other demanding applications.

“Pharmaceutical manufacturing companies and compounding pharmacies may face different regulatory environments, but sterility is absolutely essential for the parenteral drugs they produce,” Stéphane Guignard, Director of Industrial Business Unit says. “Whether your focus is conforming to the FDA current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) or simply ensuring the integrity of your compounding process, products like our BIO-GUARDIAN® inflatable seal are ideal for both original equipment specification or aftermarket replacement.”

INTERPHEX (International Pharmaceutical Expo), sponsored by PDA (Parenteral Drug Association), is the single source for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device full product develop life cycle solutions to safely and cost effectively develop and manufacture all dosage forms with a unique combination of exhibition, no cost technical education, workshops, partnering opportunities, and networking events.
